Training

Our courses provide all relevant information for all employees whose roles involve the preparation i.e. packing, classifying, marking, labelling, documenting, handling, loading and storage of Dangerous Goods.  Our training courses contain but are not limited to the following and on completion of training each employee will be able to:

 

 

  • understand the regulations for both national and international rules

  • recognise which articles are forbidden on air transport

  • understand that some articles or substances have limitations when shipping Dangerous Goods by Air, Ocean and Ground.

  • classify Dangerous Goods - understanding the 9 different dangerous goods classes and packing groups

  • identify Dangerous Goods and their characteristics, including mixtures and solutions, n.o.s. (Not Otherwise Specified)

  • understand and identify the requirements of both the Alphabetical and Numerical Dangerous Goods Lists

  • understand that some dangerous goods have Special Provisions

  • understand the requirements and methods for packing dangerous goods, including the packing instructions

  • understand the test procedures for packaging and have a thorough knowledge of the UN Specifications Markings

  • understand acceptance procedures for the carriage of dangerous goods, including the use of a check list

  • understand procedures for the marking, labelling and documentation of dangerous goods

  • understand loading procedures and any restrictions that apply

  • Awareness/Orientation Safety/Security Training Train-The-Trainer

  • We will train a designated employee of your company to train your warehouse personnel, drivers, etc in a two (2) hour session to comply with DOT, EPA and OSHA’s minimum training requirements which includes methods and procedures for avoiding accidents, measures to protect the employees from, and proper disposal of hazardous materials as well as their responsibilities. We will provide you with all the training material and certifications.

  •  

  • Function-Specific Training

  • This is an 8 hour training session designed specifically applicable to functions the employee performs e.g. packing, marking, documenting, receiving, and loading the dangerous goods.

  •  

  • Initial and Recurrent Training, IATA & 49 CFR

  • This is a three day training seminar. The participants after completing and passing the final examination will be able to properly use the Hazardous Material Regulations of the US DOT and the Dangerous Goods Regulations of IATA. See training guidelines.

  •  

  • IMDG and HMR Ocean Training

  • The Hazardous Material Regulations and the International Maritime Organization focuses on the safe handling of dangerous goods and transportation by ground and ocean.
